Your New Web Site

The new web site is the vision of Lauren Anderson. Her passion for pottery and the Clay Alliance along with her knowledge of marketing and branding came together. As most of us would agree the old web site “worked fine”, but it was in need of remodeling (and a major overhaul if you dare see the lines of spaghetti code doing all the behind scenes work). Lauren Anderson first contacted me in August of 2010. After many starts and stops and starts and stops, twenty months later our new site is up and running. It is going to grow at a rapid pace. With WordPress as the software to run the site, it will continue to be dynamic and we will be able to search and categorize information for years to come.

I just got a little nostalgic. Before CA v.2.0, there was CA 1.0. That was envisioned by Louise Jenks and Tina Harmon. They brought me along for the (programming) ride. The first meeting was June 1-1999. You can see my original notes below. I also queried the wayback.archive time machine to get a few shots of what our site has looked like over the years. I’m looking forward to seeing where all of us members will take this site. (Our site is the 1st official member, until we get that section up and running.) If you need help getting around, please check out the video I put together.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3LPKyQuC3HE Also note that in the near future, i’ll be posting some tips on how to use the web site.
