The Clay Alliance is proud to present a workshop using a medium that is foreign to most of us – Paper Clay. Jerry Bennett, a leading international paper clay artist, will conduct a hands-on workshop which will provide an opportunity for potters to explore and experience new approaches to functional pottery using paper clay and other innovative materials.

The workshop will explore inventive construction techniques, how to make paper clay, bonding materials, texture and decoration techniques, problem solving related to repair work, rapid working with clay, reducing shrinkage and many other sculptural considerations.

Jerry Bennett is a resident artist at the Philadelphia Clay Studio. He received his M.F.A. from Indiana University at Bloomington. He was an honored guest at the First International Paper Clay Symposium in Kecskemet, Hungary and the leader of the Second International Paper Clay Symposium. His work is in many galleries and museums throughout the world.
