We’re excited to have the opportunity to sponsor a workshop in conjunction with Northern Kentucky University welcoming Jen Allen on March 4th from 9am-4pm & March 5th from 9am-12pm at the NKU Ceramics & Sculpture building.<\/p>\n

Jen Allen received a BFA (2002) from the University of Alaska, Anchorage, and a MFA (2006) from Indiana University, Bloomington. \u00a0From 1998-2002, she worked as a production assistant to Kris Bliss at Bliss Pottery in Anchorage, AK. In March 2008, the National Council for the Education of Ceramic Arts (NCECA) recognized Jennifer as an \u201cEmerging Artist\u201d.\u00a0 Among other awards, she was the recipient of the 2006-2007 Taunt Fellowship at the Archie Bray Foundation in Helena, MT.\u00a0 In addition to keeping a home studio, Jennifer currently teaches ceramic classes at West Virginia University.\u00a0 She lives in Morgantown, WV with her husband Shoji Satake<\/a>, their two kids, Annelise and Finn and their two dogs, Billie and Ella.<\/p>\n

Wednesday’s Schedule:<\/h4>\n

9am-4pm: Jen will be demonstrating her wheel-thrown & decorating techniques on a variety of forms, including pitchers, flower bricks, cups, plates, butter dishes, and more. There will be a 1 hour lunch break with no lunch provided.<\/p>\n

Thursday’s Schedule:<\/h4>\n

9am-12pm: Jen will be finishing up her pieces from Wednesday’s demonstrations.<\/p>\n

The workshop will be demonstration only with no hands-on portion.<\/p>\n
