INVESTIGATIONS ON BEAUTY AND ABJECTIONS with Amelia and Hunter Stamps

TWO FANTASTIC WORKSHOPS FOR THE PRICE OF ONE

Hunter Stamps – Associate Professor of Ceramic Sculpture in the School of Art & Visual Studies
at the University of Kentucky. MFA from Indiana University. BFA from the University of North Carolina.

Hunter will be constructing abstract figurative sculptures out of wheel thrown parts. The workshop will cover ceramic armature, help wrapping techniques and discussions of glazes and mixed media applications.

Amelia Stamps – Designated Kentucky Crafted Artist. She has received numerous professional
awards. Her work is exhibited in art galleries nationwide and has been published in several publications. BFA in Ceramics from the University of North Carolina.

Amelia will be throwing, altering and demonstrating decorating techniques such as slip trailing and darting. She will discuss the process of overlapping glazes and wax resist patterning as it relates to her work.
