Internationally renowned ceramicist Fong Choo offers a  day long  workshop on teapots on Sunday, January 13 at Funke Fired Arts. Choo says, “one must push the limits, test the waters, search, prod and explore the many boundaries of clay.” Choo will demonstrate his process for making teapot forms from start to finish, including handle making and glaze techniques and recipes.

Choo came to the University of Louisville in 1983 to study business, and took a ceramics class to quell his boredom. The rest is history. Choo has been teaching ceramics at Bellarmine University in Louisville since 1999. He has also received national recognition for his teapots, reminiscent of the Yixing style of pottery that dates to the 14th century . He received an award for excellence in ceramics at the Smithsonian Craft Show, the nations most prestigious juried exhibition and sale of contemporary American craft

Please pre-register for Fong Choo’s full day demonstration workshop by calling 513-871-2529, or email Ben Clark at bclark@funkefiredarts.com for more information.
